Sunday Highlight: February 12, 2023
In our prayer time today, we’re going to West Africa. Senegal is on the Atlantic coast, and that’s where Wesley and Emily Smyth serve. We want to pray for them today. These days they direct the Send Relief program for West Africa. That’s the program our churches use to send food and other helps to needy people, both in the United States and other countries.
Much of West Africa is poor and dependent on uncertain rain for crops. Food relief is sometimes needed urgently. Wesley and Emily have served in several West African countries. In fact, their oldest child was born in the United States, but their other three were born in three different West African countries. Sharing Christ with so many different kinds of people taught their kids to see people for who they are, rather than a particular nationality or tribe. When they hold a church service in their home, usually people from nine countries attend.
Let’s pray today for Wesley, Emily and their family, as they serve in Africa. Our church supports them through our regular Cooperative Program giving.
