Sunday Highlight: March 17, 2024
Today in our prayer time, we’ll visit Southern California. Specifically, we’re going to Calimesa, which is in east Los Angeles, situated along I-10 between the city and the mountains further east.
That’s where our missionaries, Brad and Lindsay Ormonde, have planted a new church. All of California needs evangelical churches, but Calimesa is a special case. The city used to be mostly a retirement community. But now it’s California’s second fastest-growing city.
Brad and Lindsay planted Garden City Church to reach the thousands of young families who are settling in Calimesa.
Each year the church hosts a back-to-school bash for students in the area. They pass out backpacks with school supplies and Bibles to all the kids who attend. Last summer, they handed out 172 backpacks.
Garden City Church welcomes newcomers to the neighborhood by helping them pay for their moving truck. Through this ministry, they’ve shared the gospel and seen lives changed.
Aren’t you happy to know that our church’s Cooperative Program giving is helping Brad and Lindsay share the gospel and plant a strong, Bible-believing church where one is really needed?
Let’s ask the Lord to bless their ministry and also to provide them a good place for all
