Sunday Highlight: September 29, 2024
Today we’re going to pray for two of our missionaries who serve in South Asia: Cordy and Elise Lowe. They serve in a part of South Asia where there are many small villages whose people have never heard the gospel. Villages like these generally do not like outsiders. Cordy and Elise were having trouble getting people to listen.
Then they found a “Lucky” connection. Lucky is actually the name of a national who is a medical doctor. Cordy and Elise led him to Christ.
People in this area desperately need medical care, but the nearest hospital is 15 miles away, a long way when you have no car. So when Lucky says something, they listen.
Often he’ll invite 40 or so people to his home for lentil stew. After they eat, Dr. Lucky asks the people to listen to what “Uncle” has to say, meaning Cordy. Uncle is a term of respect here, so they listen.
Now, every week, more and more people are hearing that Jesus wants to be their Savior. That’s not lucky —that’s a miracle!
Aren’t you glad our church is supporting Cordy and Elise through our Cooperative Program giving? Let’s pray for them now!
