Sunday Highlight: April 14, 2024
Today, we’re going to direct our prayers to North Africa. Two of our missionaries, whom we’ll call Herald and Sarah serve there.
North Africa is mostly Muslim. Sharing the gospel is illegal and dangerous. There are big cities, but many people live in rural areas and survive on small, meager farms.
The Singers have focused their outreach on those rural areas. They call the people Sparrows, from Matthew 10 — people God has not forgotten. The Singers distribute goats to farm women, which enables them to have milk, butter, and cheese for their families or to sell.
When they deliver the goats, Herald and Sarah get to visit the homes and Sarah talks with the women. She teaches them about hygiene and also shares Bible stories.
Goats have helped our missionaries get the gospel to hundreds of homes that otherwise would have been locked away from Christ.
Our church helps support Herald and Sarah through our Cooperative Program giving. Next time you see a goat, thank the Lord that a goat can help open doors for the gospel in North Africa. God has not forgotten those Sparrow people, and neither should we!
