Sunday Highlight: August 24, 2025
Today, in our prayer time, we’re going to visit a Pacific island so we can pray for two of our missionaries there.
We’ll call them Jacob and Julie. Our church supports them through the Cooperative Program.
Jacob and Julie pondered how they could share the gospel with the island people. They decided to present a drama that would demonstrate how Jesus performed miracles, how He was put to death on a cross, how He rose again that First Easter morning.
National believers quickly got on board with the plan and agreed to play the 24 parts needed. The plan helped the small local churches bond more closely. The first year they held the play in a parking lot. The second year they were allowed to close a street and hold it in a neighborhood.
Response from the public was so positive that last year, they were able to present it at the island’s major shopping mall. More than 1,000 people saw the drama!
Beyond the drama, the gospel was proclaimed — the story of Jesus didn’t end with an empty tomb!
Let’s pray for Jacob and Julie and ask God to show them more ways to share Christ on their island nation.
