Sunday Highlight: September 8, 2024
Let’s pray our way over to Asia today in our prayer time — all the way to Thailand. That’s where two of our missionaries we’ll call Jason and Robin serve. Our church supports them through our Cooperative Program giving.
Part of our prayer today should be thanksgiving — because Jason and Robin just had a sort of spiritual breakthrough. Thailand is mostly a Buddhist land and many people resist hearing the gospel. So when Jason and Robin started serving in the Isan area of northeastern Thailand, they looked for a “person of peace” to help them get the gospel heard.
They stopped for coffee one day and met Tia. She was a mother and wife in her mid-40s — and a Buddhist. But as Jason and Robin returned for more cups of coffee, they told her of Jesus — and she prayed to receive Christ! She helped our missionaries share the gospel in the Village of Three Temples and within two months, seven people became Christians.
Let’s pray Jason and Robin find others like Tia to help get the gospel into this part of Thailand. Let’s pray that one day soon, the village can be rightly called “The Village of Many Churches.”
