Sunday Highlight: September 14, 2025
Today, in our prayer time, let’s go to North Africa to pray for two missionaries our church supports through the Cooperative Program.
We’ll call them Jay and Ella, not their real names because they serve in a country that’s mostly Muslim. Violence and unrest are common.
Jay and Ella grieve for the millions of people in their land who do not know Jesus — and have not yet even heard of Him.
They know one way to expand the gospel is for the few local Christians to be bold in their outreach and sharing.
Recently, Jay was on a mountain as he discipled a man he calls Timothy. Night was falling and stars were in the sky. In the valley below were flickering lights. Jay pointed those lights out to Timothy. Each light is an open fire representing people who probably have not heard of Jesus, Jay told him.
Timothy understood the lesson! He went to see some friends and boldly told them stories from the Bible: Creation to the coming of Christ. Several men gave their lives to Jesus.
Let’s pray for Jay and Ella as they work to bring thousands to faith in Christ in that dangerous place.
