Sunday Highlight: October 26, 2025
In our missions prayer time today, let’s pray for Joshua and Lisa Kim, who serve as our missionaries in Surrey, British Columbia on Canada’s western coast.
Surrey is one of several cities that make up Greater Vancouver. More than three million people live here, making it Canada’s third-largest city. People from around the world speak 200+ languages.
Those Asian immigrants include Joshua and Lisa. After Joshua completed military service in South Korea, he attended the Korean Baptist Seminary. Then he was led to become a church planter in Canada.
He and Lisa and their three daughters settled in Surrey and soon planted The Follow Church.
At first they had services in Korean, thinking they would reach just Koreans. But people from many language groups and backgrounds came, so they switched to English. They still meet in a rented building and have begun reaching mostly people in their 30s and 40s. There’s a thriving ministry to children and youth.
The church uses its AWANA program and sports ministries for outreach; they plan to start a daycare program.
Our church supports Joshua and Lisa through our Cooperative Program giving.
Let’s pray their church will grow and reach many for Christ!
