Sunday Highlight: October 23

Today in our missions prayer time, we’re going to pray for one of our missionaries we’ll call Lena Eckhart. She works somewhere in the United Kingdom, so that could be England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland. We cannot be more specific, because Lena’s ministry is with women who once were Muslim but have committed their lives to Christ. 

Since their families are still Muslim, they must be secret Christians. If they were discovered reading the Bible, for example, they might be put out on the street, beaten or even killed.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, the women could not read their Bibles or meet with other believers. When lockdown eased, Lena started meeting with five of the women at a shopping center. She trained them in how to go visit and disciple other Christian women in Muslim areas. 

Our church supports Lena, our brave missionary, through our Cooperative Program giving. Let’s pray for her now. And let’s pray for these women who have risked everything to follow Jesus. Let’s pray that many more Muslim women will decide to follow Him.
